Water Heaters

Conventional water heaters heat a tankful of water, usually 30, 40 or 50 gallons, and keep it heated so that when you wash your hands, start the shower or turn on your washing machine hot water is there almost immediately.

This convenience has a price, however: A lot of energy is wasted when water is kept hot while nobody is home or when everyone is sleeping. It is similar to leaving your car idling in case someone needs to go somewhere, or having a fresh pot of hot coffee available around the clock, in case someone wants a cup.

Tankless water heaters are becoming a
reasonable---and energy-saving---alternative. Because you are not keeping between 30 and 50 gallons of water hot 24 hours every day, a tankless water heater can dramatically lower your energy
bills. The Department of Energy estimates that a tankless water heater can lop off up to 30 percent of a typical household's energy use. Tankless water heaters are ideal for cabins and vacation homes, because hot water is available immediately---no waiting for an entire tank to heat up--and they offer lower maintenance costs. Tankless water heaters are wall-mounted, taking up much less space than tank water heaters (again, a particular advantage for vacation cottages).
Tankless water heaters can be supplemental to a conventional water heater if hot water is needed in an area that is far away from the main water heater.

Though every application is different to each persons needs and we would be happy to install either a tankless or regular water heater for a reasonable price so when the time comes to replace your unit please feel free to contact us and we can go over pros and cons with your set up and give you a cost to do.
