Water Heaters
Conventional water heaters heat a tankful of water, usually 30, 40 or 50 gallons, and keep it heated so that when you wash your hands, start the shower or turn on your washing machine, hot water is there almost immediately.
This convenience has a price, however: A lot of energy is wasted when water is kept hot while nobody is home or when everyone is sleeping. It is similar to leaving your car idling in case someone needs to go somewhere, or having a fresh pot of hot coffee available around the clock, in case someone wants a cup.
Tankless water heaters are becoming a reasonable---and energy-saving---alternative. Because you are not keeping between 30 and 50 gallons of water hot 24 hours every day, a tankless water heater can dramatically lower your energy bills. The Department of Energy estimates that a tankless water heater can lop off up to 30 percent of a typical household's energy use. Tankless water heaters are ideal for cabins and vacation homes because hot water is available immediately---no waiting for an entire tank to heat up--and they offer lower maintenance costs. Tankless water heaters are wall-mounted, taking up much less space than tank water heaters (again, a particular advantage for vacation cottages).
Tankless water heaters can be supplemental to a conventional water heater if hot water is needed in an area that is far away from the main water heater.
Though every application is different to each person's needs and we would be happy to install either a tankless or regular water heater for a reasonable price, so when the time comes to replace your unit, please feel free to contact us, and we can go over pros and cons with your set up and give you a cost to do.

Home Re-Piping
Whole Home Re-pipes are not an easy or quick job, but AVG Plumbing Inc. can take the guesswork out of pricing and time required to handle your property. The average time is 10 days, depending on how many people do the work, so be prepared to be without water for that period. Time-reducing steps can be taken, but it means opening walls etc., to drill new holes for pipes to pass. Another alternative is to run the pipes externally (on the outside) of the property.
Drain Cleaning
Hydro Jetting, high-pressure cleaning, or water blasting is the use of water propelled at high speeds to remove build-up and debris in tanks and lines. By focusing and pressurizing the water stream, the force generated can clean even the most severe of blockages. Take caution in having a hydro jetter run through your old drain line; sometimes, hydro jetting can blow out a hole in an old line.
Another type of drain cleaning more commonly used is what most people would call "Snaking or Roto Rootering," their drain line. This is done with a machine of a few different sizes depending on drain size, that has a steel cable with a cutter or jagged edge head on the end that can snag and rip roots or retrieve debris that gets lodged in the line. Though if the line has an offset or root intrusion, collapsed line or back fall{water draining wrong direction} in line, running a snake/cable would only be a temporary solution. To properly fix this issue, a replacement of a section or whole line may be needed in order to prevent the problem from re-occurring, and it will be a more cost-efficient approach in the long run. However, when a line first backs up, it is usually best to start with running a cable to see what comes back or doesn't, then perform a camera inspection to formulate a game plan. Also, add a picture of drain cleaning with the sewer machine.
Pipe Location
Pipe locating is usually performed for a few reasons, for example:
- When a client is trying to ensure the line is good for the sale of a home or show the location for future building connection points.
- When the plumber runs his cable through the sewer line and pulls back mud or roots and the customer wants to get the line fixed to prevent repeated issues/backups
- When a customer is trying to trace a gas or water line with tracer wire on it to find location to either fix or reroute or know the location to avoid when digging.
